Professor Malin Parmar's group works with translational stem cell biology. The focus of her research is to understand cell fate specification in the developing brain and in human neural progenitor cells using cell-based models of neuronal differentiation.

Together with her lab she has shown in a series of high profile publications how human fibroblasts can be converted into neurons, how glial cells can be reprogrammed into neurons in vivo, and how functional dopamine neurons can be generated from human embryonic stem cells. Dr. Malin Parmar is a professor at the Wallenberg Neuroscience Center and Lund Stem Cell Center at Lund University in Lund, Sweden.
